By 1723, Richard and Mary were living in Stafford Co V A when Richard gave power of attorney to his father Richard Taylor of B altimore Co MD. Abstract: Know all men by these presents that I Richard T aylor of Stafford County VA, planter, do make constitute and appoint by t hese presents my father Richard Taylor Sen of Baltimore Co, Maryland pl anter my true and lawful Atty for me and in my name and for myself to c onvey and make over all & every my right title to land called Stone's D elight containing 100 acres of land my said Attorney, this 16th day of A pril 1723. Witnesses: John Whitehead, James Dodderole, James Tracey, Jo hn Cross. Richard's wife Mary Taylor also signed the release with her i nitial M. [where? 1723-1739] In 1739, Richard Taylor stated that he w as a resident of Goochland Co VA when he made a deposition in Baltimore C o MD about the land of his father Richard Taylor deceased. Richard gave h is age as 51. On Aug 20 1745, Richard received two patents in Goochlan d County: one for 1200 acres on the Mill Branch of Willis' River and on t he head of Watkins' Creek of the Fluvanna River, the other for 400 acre s on the west side of the north branch of the Slate River. (LVA online L and Office Grants) In Nov 1747, Richard was included in the procession ing records of Southam Parish in Cumberland County: "then between Maj. G eorge Carrington and Richard Taylor along the line to Taylor's corner t ree." (Blomquist, 34) On Nov 27 1749, Richard Taylor Sr of Albemarle C o VA sold 695 acres for 5 shillings to Samuel Taylor of Cumberland Co V A. The land was on the branches of Willis Creek and bounded on the sout h & west by George Carrington, north by Richard Taylor, and east by Phi llip Mayo, and was part of a "tract of 1200 acres patented to Richard T aylor on Aug 20 1745." The witnesses were John Burton, Allen Burton, an d Ambrose Hudgens. (TLC, 10) On March 28 1751, Richard Taylor of Albem arle Co VA sold 600 acres lying in both Albemarle and Cumberland counti es to Samuel Taylor of Cumberland Co for ?????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????43. This tract was bounded on the north by Abr aham Childers, on the west by John and David Price, on the south by Sam uel Taylor, and on the east by Phillip Mayo, James Nevil, and James Dan iel. The deed also included that "of the 600 acres, 505 acres were part o f the greater tract of 1200 acres patented to Richard Taylor on Aug 20 1 745, the residue of 95 acres being by him purchased of James Daniel by d eed." Witnesses: Isaac Bates, Abraham Childers, Phineas Glover, John St inson. Recorded May 1751. (TLC, 28, 29) Richard died about June 1751 i n Buckingham Co VA.
