From Ancestral File (TM), data as of 2 January 1996.SOURCE CITATION: Alexander was 30 yrs old at the time of the 1850 Census in Montgomery Co., Virginia making the 1820 birthdate correct. Therefore he was the son of Risden Riley and Sarah Jewell Richardson.

Military Record:
This day Alexander Richardson came personally before me, John Pepper, Justice of the Peace, for said county and took the oath prescribed by law. First Lieutenant in the 75th Regiment of Infantry of the lines in the 19th brigade amd 5th Division of the Virginia Milititia. Certified under my had this 2nd day of January 1847. NOTE: From Gayle Kent - I found a family bible that listed Alex's birthday as June 6 1818, and the 1900
census list Alex's birthday as June 1818. Since Reisden and Sally were married in Nov 1818, Alex must belong to Eve. Noah and Elizabeth died before the 1900 census.


Alexander Richardson 1818-1906
On Saturday last at 2 p.m. Alexander Richardson Sr., buried at the family graveyard on North Fork Road at the mouth of Pedlar. Mr. Richardson had been failing for a long time and was moved about two weeks ago from his son Charles L. Richardson's, in Pedlars, to the old home place at John W. Richardson's. Bro Richardson was 88 years old, the patriarch of all our community. He was a consistent member of the M E church almost ever since boyhood, a christian against whom no one ever brought reproach in all these years. He was also a good business man in his younger days, quiet and unobtrusive and ready to do a kindness and to deal fairly with all with whom
he came in contact. He was regular in church attendance as long as he was able. Our association with him as a neighbor and as a Christian brother, will be remembered by us as with satisfaction as we live and we shall miss him sadly. On Thursday morning (as we only got home Tuesday) we went to see our old brother and found him barely conscious, but he knew us, after we had sung and prayed with him, and nodded his head with a distinct affirmation when we asked him if he was ready whenever God called him. That very evening at 6 he passed away peacefully and quietly as a little child upon its mother's breast, and now we believe he is resting with the angels around the throne of God in heaven.
