    Aug 1746 -- Elizabeth Snodgrass christened, daughter of William Snodgrass, Tinkling Spring Congregation, Augusta Co., Virginia.

    Virginia Patent Book 26, page 22: 5 Mar 1747/8, William Snodgrass was granted 400 acres on a sinking spring Branch of Cataubo Creek [then in Augusta Co., now in Botetourt Co.].

    5 Mar 1749 -- Robert Snodgrass, son of William Snodgrass, was baptised near Catopa [Catawba]; Tinkling Spring Congregation.

    Augusta Co., VA, 1 Oct 1753 -- Surveyed for William Snodgrass, 140 acres joining his own & Mitchell's land; surveyor, William Preston [then in Augusta Co., now in Botetourt Co.].

    Augusta Co., VA, 4 Oct 1753 -- Wm. Snodgrass was credited with a payment to the estate of Col. James Patton for land purchased (as per accounting made in 1769 when William Preston became the executor).

    In the Name of God Amen, in the Eighteenth Day of December, one thousand seven hundred Eighty Nine, I William Snodgrass of Botetourt County and State of Virginia, being sick and wake [= weak] in Body, but sound in mind and memory thanks be to God, therefor, and Calling to mind the mortaltory of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament, and first of all to the almighty God I commit my soul who giveth me Nothing doughin [= doubting], but at the genrall Resurrrection shall be Restored to me again by the Mighty Power of God and my body recommend to the Earth to Buried in a Christian dasand [= decent] Burial at the Discreption of my Exactors, And as touch Such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, after my Funnerell Charges and Just Debts is paid I Dispose of in the following manner and form.
    Imprims I bequeath to my Dearly beloved wife Isabella Snodgrass all my moveball Estate and her thirds of the plantation I now live on during her life and at her Death she is to dispose of her thirds of the land at her discreption
    I next bequeath to my son Joseph Snodgrass to his Eairs [= heirs] forever the remainder of the plantation I now live on after my Wife gets her thirds, my Son Joseph his Heirs or assigns forever.
    I do furder [= further] allow my sons James and William and John Snodgrass five shillings eatch,
    Likewise my Daughters Shusan Tweedy* and Jain Fisher and Margaret Seele and Isabell H. McClenahan, and Elender George, five shillings eatch, if required. I do Constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Isabella Snodgrass my Executrix, and my sons William and Joseph Snodgrass, Executors, of this my last Will land Testament, and I do hereby revoke and Disoannall [= disannul] all other Wills, legasies and bequests by me before made ratifying and do Confirm this and known [= none] other to be my last Will and Testament, given under my hand and sail [= seal] the Day and year firs [= first] above written.

    Signed Sealed Published pronounced and Declared in presence of us William McClanachan, John Smith Jr., Joseph Snodgrass Junr., David Fultin At a Court held for Botetourt County the ___ Day of January 1791.
    This instrument of Wrighting was produced in Court as and for the last Will and Testament of William Snodgrass Decased and proved by the oaths of John Snodgrass and David Fultin. Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded - and William Snodgrass one of the Executors therein named apointed in Court to expressly refused the Executorship and thereupon the motion of Joseph Snodgrass, an other Executor therein named who made oath according to Law. Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in Due form he having with Patrick Lockhard and William Snodgrass his Securities, Entered into and acknowledged Bond in the Penalty of £500. Conditioned as the law directs.
